Panama | Auromar Firestone | Washed Gesha

Our notes: Firestone is back once again, this time was special because we visited Roberto at the farm and purchased this lot specifically. This coffee has an intense white floral notes with clean stonefruit quality.

Firestone is Auromar’s flagship washed Gesha and represents the very highest expression of the estate’s craft. Named after Roberto Brenes’ passion for Ironman triathlons and his relentless pursuit of excellence, Firestone is only produced from the finest cherries of each harvest and has become one of Panama’s most celebrated washed coffees. It gained international recognition after winning 1st Place in the Best of Panama Washed Geisha competition in 2022, further cementing Auromar’s reputation among the world’s elite Gesha producers.

Grown between 1,570–1,770 metres at Finca La Aurora in Piedra Candela, Chiriquí, the coffee benefits from cool mountain temperatures, volcanic soils, and a unique microclimate created by native forest and high-altitude avocado trees. Only perfectly ripe cherries are hand-selected, with harvesters paid above-average wages to encourage exceptional picking standards.

For Firestone, the cherries are depulped before undergoing a carefully controlled 16–18 hour fermentation. The parchment is then thoroughly washed, sun-dried, hand sorted multiple times, and rested for at least six weeks before milling and export. This traditional washed process is designed to reveal the purest expression of Gesha, highlighting clarity, elegance and terroir rather than fermentation-driven flavours.
